Immedion Offers Vulnerability Management Services
May 27, 2009
Immedion, through its partner StillSecure, announced a fully managed vulnerability management service for its Intelligent Managed Security Services platform. The new service is based on StillSecure’s award-winning vulnerability management system, VAM®, and is the first of StillSecure’s products to be offered as a managed service.
Effective vulnerability management takes into account regulatory compliance requirements as well as the threat from decreased time between the identification of a vulnerability and its exploit. When implemented as a service, vulnerability management also maximizes the efficiency of IT resources and reduces the time it takes to scan and fix network vulnerabilities.
Immedion’s vulnerability management service provides fully managed scanning (using external and internal scans), identification, analysis and reporting of network vulnerabilities. Once a scan is completed, Immedion provides customers with detailed reports around compliance, remediation, and risk management. Vulnerability lifecycle status is also analyzed to generate high-level and in-depth, granular reports for auditors, managers, security staff, and system administrators.
Immedion CEO Frank Mobley stated, “We can incorporate these vulnerability management services into a layered security model for customers seeking to strengthen their security position who might not have the resources to do it in-house. Needs have changed from simply minimizing security threats to include reducing costs and meeting regulatory requirements, and through our Intelligent Managed Security Services, we are helping companies meet those needs.”
Immedion’s Intelligent Managed Security Services, which are SAS-70 Type II audited, help organizations lower total cost of ownership by leveraging external security experts as an extension of their staff. Managed security services include firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, anti-spam, anti-virus, content filtering, and vulnerability management, which are all backed by a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC) staffed by certified security analysts.
